ENGL 0605 - Writing I

A beginning course in the English composition course sequence, Writing I seeks to strengthen the student’s writing fluency through study of selected elements of basic composition. These include grammar, spelling, and punctuation as well as sentence and paragraph construction. The course introduces students to different patterns of organization and various types of paragraphs through assigned readings and multiple-draft writing assignments. Students have the option of receiving S/U or letter grades. Instruction in the fundamentals of grammar, usage, proofreading skills, and sentence and paragraph construction.

Prerequisites: ACT English score of 0-12, Compass English Score 0-50.
