NRST 1610 - Fundamentals of Nursing (4L,9LB,7CR) Designed to acquaint the student with the concepts of person, health, environment, and nursing. The holistic nature of the person is explored in states of health and illness with special consideration of nutritional status. The role of the nurse is introduced. Interpersonal and technical skills and the nursing process are emphasized as a means of assisting persons across the lifespan to adapt to stressors in the environment. Guided learning experiences in the laboratory are correlated with classroom instruction.
Prerequisites: admission to the nursing program. Concurrent enrollment in NRST 1605 , NRST 1615 .
