EDUC 2100 - Practicum in Teaching

(4CR) This course is for prospective educators and a capstone course for education majors at the sophomore level. Students will participate in a practicum experience in a public-accredited school under the supervision of a certified mentor teacher for a minimum of 60 hours. Students will also attend one weekly 110-minute class session. Electronic portfolios are used extensively in this course to demonstrate student proficiencies in content knowledge, skills and preparation to be an effective teacher. Assignments, projects, and classroom experiences are aligned with NCATE accreditation and InTASC standards. Students enrolled in this course must be 18 years of age or older.

Prerequisites: EDFD 2100 , EDFD 2020 ; concurrent or completion of ITEC 2360   & GPA of 2.5 or higher.
