CRMJ 1705 - Firearms II (3CR)


(1L, 4LB) This course will review range safety procedures and legal issues concerning the use of deadly force by law enforcement officers. In addition, the course will introduce students to more advanced defensive handgun techniques beyond what are taught in CRMJ 1700 . Students will also be introduced to skills involving the handling, firing and maintenance of police shotguns, semi-automatic patrol rifles, and precision rifles. Students must furnish ammunition, ear and eye protection and pay an access fee for use of the shooting range. This is considered to be a vocational skills course and it may not transfer to the University of Wyoming or other four-year institutions offering bachelor degrees in criminal justice. Enrollment limited to majors in criminal justice or by permission of the instructor.

Prerequisites: CRMJ 1700 .
