The mission of the Department of Theatre and Dance is to provide hands-on training and foundational coursework during the first two years of a baccalaureate theatre or dance degree.
Through a blend of extensive classroom study and production experience, students develop practical skills in both on and off the stage. The program supports key skills in its students such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and time management, as well as cultivating a lifelong appreciation for community and the arts.
Students in the Theatre Arts degree engage with all facets of the discipline, including acting, voice, movement, technical theatre, and directing, with numerous opportunities to participate in productions each year. This comprehensive approach provides a strong and diverse foundation for continued study, professional work, and a lifelong engagement with the performing arts.
The Department also enriches the cultural life of the Casper community through diverse performances, outreach, and partnerships, embodying Casper College’s commitment to education, creativity, and community engagement.
Casper College is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) and National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD).
