MUSC 2063 - Blues, Jazz, and Rock (3CR) (3L) Blues, Jazz, and Rock traces the roots of American popular music from its inception during the 16th century until the present day. The course will discuss the genres of blues, jazz, and rock and how each of these grew from the musical tradition that preceded it. Additionally, the course will explore the unique geography and cultural influences that helped inspire each of the three genres discussed in the course.
One section offered per year or every-other year.
Prerequisites: None Concurrently: None Cross-listed: Ideally, this course would be cross-listed as a Humanities course and fulfill a Cultural Environment requirement.
